Virsa Vihar to Emerge as a Cultural Epicentre under ‘Rangla Punjab’ Initiative

In a noteworthy stride towards cultural preservation and educational advancement, Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, the esteemed Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, conducted a meticulous inspection of two eminent public institutions – Virsa Vihar, the city’s cultural nucleus, and the Guru Nanak Dev District Digital Library.

During his visit to Virsa Vihar, Dr Aggarwal underscored the indispensability of systematic upkeep and directed officials to ensure the edifice’s sustained preservation. Recognising its pivotal role as a beacon of Punjab’s rich artistic heritage, he announced its elevation as a central venue under the ‘Rangla Punjab’ initiative, thereby envisaging it as a distinguished stage for promoting cultural expression and communal engagement.

Proceeding to the Guru Nanak Dev District Digital Library, the Deputy Commissioner engaged in a candid dialogue with aspirants preparing for competitive examinations, alongside other diligent readers. He lent a patient ear to their aspirations, difficulties, and requirements, affirming the administration’s commitment to cultivating an intellectually conducive environment. Dr Aggarwal further pledged resolute measures aimed at augmenting the library’s infrastructure and amenities, thereby rendering it a more robust resource centre for the scholarly youth of the district.

Through this dual inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reasserted his vision of harmonising cultural renaissance with academic empowerment, thereby fortifying Jalandhar’s standing as both a guardian of heritage and a cradle of intellectual growth.
