Mandiala LPG Explosion: Death Toll Rises to Seven; Magistrate Inquiry Ordered

Hoshiarpur, Punjab – The tragic repercussions of the devastating LPG cylinder explosion at Mandiala continue to unfold, with the official death toll now standing at seven. In response to the catastrophe, the district administration has ordered a full-fledged magisterial inquiry to ascertain the precise causes, responsibilities, and preventive measures surrounding the incident.
In a decisive move, the Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur has announced the constitution of special district-level committees mandated to curb illicit gas pilferage and to regulate unauthorised vehicle parking in congested vicinities. These committees, headed by the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates, have been vested with authority to monitor, investigate, and enforce corrective action with immediate effect.
Furthermore, a Special Relief Committee, under the chairmanship of the SDM, has been established to ensure the expeditious provision of aid and rehabilitation to the victims and their bereaved families. The administration has reiterated its unwavering commitment to extend both justice and comprehensive assistance to those affected by the calamity.
The Deputy Commissioner, while expressing profound grief over the tragedy, emphasised that no lapse or negligence will be overlooked, and stern measures shall be undertaken to avert recurrence of such disasters.
