It fills us with immense pride and joy to welcome IAS Sakshi Sawhney, a 2014 batch officer, as the first-ever female Deputy Commissioner of the sacred city, Amritsar. With a remarkable track record, she has previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana and Patiala, held the prestigious role of Additional Secretary (Coordination), and worked as Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary of Punjab. Her prior experiences include serving as the Additional Deputy Commissioner in both Bathinda and Mohali.
A dedicated and honest officer, Sakshi Sawhney is known for her diligent work ethic. She secured an impressive 6th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination and holds a BA followed by an LLB degree. Coming from a family deeply rooted in public service, her father is a former IRS officer, her mother is a school principal, and her sister is a banker. We are confident that under her leadership, Amritsar will continue to flourish and achieve greater heights.
